Recorded this at the Mac Belfast last year but only just been able to upload it with the new phone. Forgotten the name of artist.
My #fairphone just arrived. Very very excited! If your wondering why im so excited about a new phone read the previous update: http://brightstem.tumblr.com/post/86489551265/fairphone
All our lives, we’ve been told to “be organized.” Organization has always been pegged as a direct key to success.
It seems I’m quickly becoming known as Rocket Man here in Belfast due to the recent post revealing the upcoming construction of a Giant Space Rocket for Culture Night. So no doubt with this new update I’m going to be well and truly stuck with the name. Ahh well, could be worse!
As you can no doubt tell from the poster I’m making a children’s book - The Boy Who Dreamed of Space Rockets. It’s a story all about a young boy’s adventures with his friend Smudge the rabbit and Ray the robot in a big red SPACE ROCKET!
On the 20th Sept I’m going to be giving a reading of the book as part of CNX ‘Culture Night Extra’. That’s the day after the giant Space Rocket goes up in Writers Square for Culture Night. The book will still be a work in progress at that point but it’ll give you all chance to have a bit of input before the final product emerges! I’ll be creating event pages closer to the date when I have more details so keep an eye out for that! In the mean time if you want to support the project please go browse and purchase any of the Bright Stem products at www.brightstemshop.com. There’s already a range of products featuring Ray the robot and there will be more rocket related products on sale shortly. These profits will subsequently go towards the first publication.
The idea of Bright Stem from the outset was to create an exciting multi disciplinary space where anything was possible. A space that would take people on a bit of an adventure. With the development of the rocket in both 3 dimensional and children’s storybook form this vision is truly becoming realised. This is why I'm so excited about these two closely linked projects. I know the news has been pretty grim of late but hopefully this is a little bit of light amongst everything else.
Finally, thanks for all the continued support, it really means a lot to me and its only with that support that Bright Stem is able to continue growing.
